It felt a bit like intentionally popping a balloon. But I promise, I haven’t broken a single egg in the process; it works like a charm!
Regarding the measuring cup, I only use the hard boiled setting. The instructions say to add water up to the 7 line for 7 eggs, but I mistakenly thought that didn’t make sense. The cup’s design starts counting from 1 at the top and goes down to 7, so I assumed I needed more water for more eggs and filled it to the 1 line instead. This resulted in some messy egg explosions. Trust me, if you follow the directions and fill to the 7 line for 7 eggs, it works perfectly—no explosions!
After the timer goes off, I unplug it and let it cool. I noticed that the eggs seemed slightly soft in the middle for hard boiled standards when I tested one, but I think the extra cooling time with the lid on ensures they cook through completely.
For cleanup, if there’s anything on the heating plate, I just add some water and let it soak. I place the egg holder and lid in dishwater with my other dishes, and they wipe clean without any scrubbing.
You really don’t realize how much hassle egg boiling can be on the stove until you try this product. It’s truly a game changer for boiling eggs!
