Initially, I was skeptical about this product, considering it costs around $20. My trusty Breville unit, which I had used for years and is now discontinued, finally gave out. So, I searched Amazon for a replacement. This appliance seems to replicate almost everything I did with my previous unit, particularly hard-boiled and poached eggs. I likely won’t use the omelet feature, as I prefer cooking omelets in a pan.
When it comes to poaching, it does an excellent job, cooking the eggs perfectly while keeping the yolk delightfully runny. If you prefer a firmer yolk, just add a little more water; however, I found the basic instructions to be spot on. Technically, the eggs are coddled in steam rather than poached, but that’s just a minor detail. Regardless of terminology, it performs well. Just a heads up: the tray for poached eggs gets quite hot when you remove it, so have a towel or napkin handy for safety.
I haven’t tested the hard-boiled egg functionality yet, but given the success of the poaching feature, I’m confident it will work well. If it doesn’t, I’ll update my review. Just a tip: plunge your hard-boiled eggs into ice-cold water before peeling to prevent the green sulfur ring around the yolks. The unit is compact, easy to clean, and features straightforward controls—just on/off. The cooking time is determined by the amount of water used. It hard-boils perfectly. Highly recommended!

I used to buy peeled hard-boiled eggs from my grocery store, but they were twice as expensive as making them at home. I rarely made them myself because it felt like too much effort. So, I decided to invest in an egg cooker to save time and money. After reading countless reviews, I chose the Dash, and I’m so glad I did!
It’s incredibly easy to use and adds a cute touch to my kitchen counter. Once the water has boiled off, the cooker stops and emits a gentle chiming sound that’s noticeable but not overwhelming. It continues chiming until I come by to turn it off.
The hard-boiled eggs come out perfectly every time! I do soak them in ice water for a while, but they don’t peel as easily as people claim. My trick is to crack and peel them under running water.
The omelette turns out well, too, but the poached eggs always have runny whites. I tried cooking them longer, but that just made the yolks hard.
I use distilled water to minimize mineral buildup on the metal plate. While the eggshells do leave some residue, it’s easy to clean.
If your main focus is hard-boiled eggs and omelettes, you can’t go wrong with this little gem! I deducted one star due to the poached egg issue, but if I figure out how to fix that, I’ll definitely be back to give it five stars. Apologies for any typos.

This is an ideal device for those with ADHD: it functions like a rice cooker (which is also a fantastic tool for ADHD folks) by signaling when the water has completely evaporated (I’m not sure of the exact tech, but that’s the gist). The alarm is pleasantly loud without being jarring, and it turns off the heating element to prevent burning your eggs!
That’s crucial for those of us with unique attention needs. Plus, it’s super cute and easy to connect with, making you actually want to eat your eggs.
Pro tip: as soon as your hard-boiled eggs are done, drop them in an ice water bath, then transfer them to a small mason jar with water halfway up the egg. Cover it, give it a few shakes, and the shells will come right off. This trick sped up my last batch of deviled eggs (made in the egg cooker) immensely!

None of my eggs have stuck to the trays; I occasionally use non-stick spray, although it’s best to spray the poaching tray for easier removal without breaking the yolks.
It’s been a lifesaver on busy mornings when I still need to grab a bite to eat. I can set it up, plug it in, go about my other tasks, and the chime alerts me when the eggs are ready. Just a heads up: if you prefer runny yolks, make sure to remove them right after the chime. Letting them sit for too long will result in a medium texture, even if they’re poached. However, they come out perfectly every time if I lift the lid promptly.
I haven’t tried cooking other foods in it yet, but I believe it’s possible. Highly recommend!
