The product matched the description, but it came with a 2-pin plug, which is not compatible with the UK.

This device provides precise timing for poaching eggs, whether you prefer them soft or hard, and it’s simple to use. Cleanup is a breeze—just a few drops of vinegar will tackle any calcium buildup. We own three of these and have been using some for over twenty years.

I purchased this as a birthday gift for my husband, who is a big fan of egg whites. He enjoys hard-boiled and poached eggs since he can easily remove the yolk after cooking. I was also excited about the idea of being able to hard-boil 10 eggs at once for Thanksgiving. We were both eager to try it out, and I dove into the instructions for hard-boiling eggs first.

For my first attempt, I decided to go all in and cook the maximum of 10 eggs. I filled the water beaker to the line for 10 hard-boiled eggs, poured it into the base, punctured the tops of the eggs as instructed, stacked them, closed the lid, flipped the switch, and waited for the magic to happen. Unfortunately, what I got was a mess, with water leaking everywhere on my counter. As the cooking finished, I had to place a dish towel around the base to catch the water. When I opened it, most of the eggs had cooked egg whites oozing out of the holes, and the shells were cracked. I also found a lot of burnt egg whites stuck to the cooking base. Peeling the eggs was a challenge, and their appearance was far from appetizing. They were barely edible and definitely not suitable for deviled eggs, which made me doubt whether my husband would even try them. I ended up chopping them for a tuna salad, and they were acceptable.

Feeling determined, I thought maybe I had made a mistake and tried again, this time with fewer eggs. I carefully punctured the eggs, ensuring the holes were centered. I hoped this wouldn’t solve the problem since it felt like it was taking longer than boiling them on the stove. As I waited, I placed a towel underneath again, and soon enough, I saw water bubbling out of the sides. When the timer went off, I opened the lid to find the same disappointing results as before.

Frustrated, I searched online for solutions and found little help. Many reviews mentioned the water leaking issue and suggested just placing a towel underneath, while others claimed it was a defect needing a return. This made me skeptical about the quality of the product. I pulled out the manual again, reread the hard-boiling instructions, and checked the poaching and omelet sections, confirming I hadn’t missed any steps.

Ultimately, I suspected that the Cuisinart Egg Central was simply poorly designed, and I regretted not reading the reviews beforehand. However, while flipping through the manual, I discovered something on page 5, under “Tips and Hints.” It stated that eggs should be stored with the large end up, which helps keep the yolks centered, and always pierce the top of the egg—the side that was facing up in the fridge. I was stunned to realize I had always stored them with the small end up!

Determined to prove this wrong, I checked my carton and was shocked to find that every egg had the large end facing up. I quickly tried again, punctured the eggs properly, filled the water, turned it on, and waited. This time, there was no leaking at all. When the beeper went off and I opened the lid, all the eggs were perfect! The shells practically fell off, and I could hardly contain my excitement.

After a few days of enjoying my perfectly hard-boiled eggs, I decided to attempt poaching. Despite mixed reviews about the poached eggs, I needed to give it a shot for my husband. I followed the directions but added more water, thinking it would help cook the eggs thoroughly. This was a mistake as the eggs looked great on top but were still raw underneath.

Despite my initial struggles, I was thrilled that the cooker had finally produced perfectly hard-boiled eggs without a mess. A few weeks later, while preparing to hard-boil again, I accidentally cracked a shell and decided to try poaching once more. This time, I sprayed the poaching tray with olive oil and filled the beaker to the hard-boiling line for a test. When the timer went off, I opened the lid and, to my delight, found that all the eggs were cooked perfectly!

One important note: if you have hard water, even filtered water can leave residue in the base after cooking. I tried various methods to clean it, but the best solution was to mix a little water with white vinegar. This worked wonders, lifting the residue easily.

In conclusion, despite my initial disappointment with the Cuisinart Egg Central, learning to use it properly has made me very happy with my purchase. I’m now considering buying more as gifts for fellow egg lovers!

I was initially hesitant to buy the Cuisinart Egg Central due to the negative reviews, but I’m glad I took the plunge. I’ve been using the egg cooker for just over a month, and it performs excellently. I haven’t experienced any issues with water boiling over onto my countertop because I use distilled water. While there has been some discoloration in the water well, I clean it right away with white vinegar, which works effectively and leaves minimal staining. The best part is that the hard-boiled eggs peel easily and without much mess. If you’re considering an egg cooker, I highly recommend the Cuisinart Egg Central.

This is a parallel import, but it came with a Japanese plug. I’m bringing it back to New York. Japanese plug? Parallel import? It’s the Cuisinart series from Japan, and it makes one-pack boiled eggs quickly and easily. I love it!

This egg cooker works flawlessly for hard-boiled eggs. Unlike our previous model, it doesn’t leak water onto the countertop. Perhaps it’s the simple and quick process of pricking each egg, but they are incredibly easy to peel. Our old cooker only accommodated 6 eggs at a time. We’ve been very satisfied with our nearly 30-year-old Cuisinart toaster and coffee grinder as well.

This is by far the simplest method for making hard boiled eggs. It can hold up to 9 eggs, regardless of their size. As long as you use the included measuring cup for water, you can’t go wrong. It operates quietly and cooks in just minutes. The timer beep is a bit loud, but at least you won’t miss it. Be cautious, as the steam is extremely hot; wait for it to cool before removing the lid. I’ve been using this product for 10 years and prepare eggs in it almost every day! My only minor issue is that it’s not as easy to clean as I’d like, but using vinegar to wipe away the hard water buildup in the inner pan works well.

I used to have this egg cooker for years before deciding to upgrade to a model that could handle 12 eggs instead of 10. I gave my old one to my sister-in-law, and she absolutely loved it. However, the new model I bought turned out to be a disappointment! After about a month, I found my old model again here on Amazon and couldn’t be happier. This egg cooker works perfectly!

I bought this product hoping to make poached eggs more quickly and easily. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I discovered that using less water than recommended actually worked better for poaching eggs. It’s also straightforward to use for soft-boiled and hard-boiled eggs. Cleanup is a breeze, and the product is durable and visually appealing.
